Design is able to draw a relation between experiences and the object. Designers Arturo Erbsman and Satsuki Ohata will discuss experiences, personal and collective, and how they both use them in creating design work to create connections with their audiences.
Arturo Erbsman is a French designer whose works reflect different points of intersection between manufactured objects and elements of nature. Based in Paris, his focus is on showing the delicacy of distinct aspects of nature in his handmade lighting objects.
Speaker: Satsuki Ohata
Born in 1980, Satsuki Ohata is a Japanese designer from Tokyo. He is known for avant-garde works created through experimental attempts.
Moderator: Andrew Loh, Designer
Andrew is a designer / artist / design educator.He believes in experimentation, craftsmanship and that design should be a meaningful experience.His design sensibilities have been finely honed from over a decade and a half of working with some of the world’s best design teams creating a wide variety of products ranging from sports equipment, mobile communication devices and audio-visual consumer electronics for market leading brand names.He heads Andrewloh designs, a Singapore based design studio where he and his collaborators experiment, design and craft meaningful, engaging experiences and objects for a range of diverse and selected clients.
